When you play a Dragon Ball, it is not considered to be "in play" until after you have used all of its effects so Earth Dragon Ball 5 cannot shuffle itself into its owners Life Deck when it is played from the hand. However, if it is already in play and its effects are used when it is captured or with effects like Red Bribe, it is already in play and can shuffle itself into its owner's Life Deck. If you do so, Hidden Zone rules will come into effect and the rest of EDB5's effects will cease to resolve. [source]
